A Look at the Outside of Our Cottage

Hello, all!!   Thought I would share a few photos today of the sweet little place for which this blog is named.  Jared and I love our home so much and we are very grateful to have found such a perfect place for us that we have really been able to make our own.  This is our lovely little cottage.  Since moving in almost 3 years ago we have painted the shutters a fun color and removed the carpet from the front porch and painted it a closer color to the brick walkway.

This is a shot of what it looked like before.  Super sweet, still, but the shutters were a little faded and the carpeting on the porch was starting to get tattered.

This is the side entry that we use the majority of the time. That big slab of concrete is actually covering what used to be a well pump room and now it houses our sump pump.  We weren't sure what to do with that area at first, but then I thought it would be the perfect space for my grandma's vintage bike.  I attached an old wine crate to the front of it and now its the home for some pretty yellow calibrachoa flowers!  The basket of flowers on the front of the fence says "Welcome"and there's a little angel statue that peeks through the flowers.

I love seeing these flowers all along the side of the house here as I walk in everyday.  We've got a beautiful mixture of roses, and potted plants that beckon to all of the senses!

My favorite stepping stone to remind me every day that there really is no place like home...

And the explosion of purple wave petunias and double headed petunias.  We planted these from seed and they were so tiny when I moved it to the pot outside!  Now it just won't stop growing and expanding, but I am not complaining!  I can't imagine what something like this would cost at a nice nursery?

Finally, our welcome mat had seen better days, so I recently added a little graffiti to it to give it a little more pizazz.  I think its the perfect touch for our lovely little white cottage!  Aloha!
